It’s finally here. The final day of cycling on the Pedal Taiwan cycling tour. And it’s a real peach! From the quiet mountain town of Taimali, we have the last short section of Eastern coastline to cover, before climbing into Taiwan’s southern mountain range. A tough climb is soon rewarded with gliding downhill routes towards the beach haven of Kenting, and the southernmost tip of the island.

Put down the tissues and pull yourself together. We know that you’re upset about this being the final ride of the trip (apart from our optional rest day ride that is!), but fear not, because we have a real treat in store.

A short downhill ride from peaceful Taimali, has us join back on to the last section of route 9 stretching southwards along the last passable section of Taiwan’s east coast.

From there, we begin the final big climb of the holiday. Leaving route 9 halfway to Kaohsiung, we turn south and begin to roll down towards the stunning beaches of Taiwan’s southern coast.

Once we reach the ocean, it’s plain sailing. All we have to do is track the quiet ocean road west (with plenty of opportunities for photos of course!) and before you know it, we’ll arrive in our home for the next two nights; the surf haven of Kenting.

With a bustling night market, relaxing beach and legendary waves, it’s the ideal location to catch your breath and look back on a fantastic 10 days worth of cycling…..or take the bike out for one final final ride!
